Alison Hart | Outer Hebrides Textile Artist

The Hebridean Reclaim is the work of Alison Hart, an artist who is from and based in the Outer Hebrides.Her work centres on slow, hand-crafted textile forms and artisan cloth dolls made from authentic Harris Tweed® and upcycled wool.

Each piece is individually shaped by material, place, and time - allowing subtle variations and natural imperfections to remain visible as a mark of genuine craftsmanship. Where reclaimed textiles are not suitable, new, sustainably sourced natural fibres are chosen with the same care and intention.

Working in small, limited batches, Alison creates one-of-a-kind heirloom Hebridean dolls that honour the history, labour, resilience, and quiet strength of Scottish island women. Her sustainable textile art is guided by a deep ethos of care - for raw materials, for the slow making process, and for creating heritage pieces designed to last across generations.
