Artist walking towards a derelict croft house

THE ARTIST

The Hebridean Reclaim is the work of Alison Hart, an artist who is from and based in the Outer Hebrides.

Her practice centres on slow, hand-crafted textile forms made from Harris Tweed and wool. Each piece is shaped by material, place, and time, allowing variation and imperfection to remain visible.

Where reclaimed materials are not suitable, new natural fibres are chosen with the same care and intention.

Working in small batches, Alison creates one-of-a-kind heirloom Hebridean dolls that honour the labour, resilience, and quiet strength of Hebridean women.

The work is guided by an ethos of care – for materials, for process, and for what is made to last.
